    Data Merging Problem

Hi, I merged data for the TF symbol for the past 5 contract rollover sessions, and when I did it it all looked great.

Today when I started NT again, a whole section seems corrupt! Any ideas why, or how to fix it?

    Please see attached image.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I am sorry, I do not know what happened. However I suggest backing up the data next time: File>Utilities>Backup.

      Merging data

The first time I merged that period of data I also had some problems, and what I did is I erased it and merged it again, and it looked fine.

It was not until I restarted Ninjs that it was corrupted.

I do have a back up of the original. Any ideas on what is causing this or how I could stop this from happening?

      Thanks,

        Hello,

No, I do not. Can you provide steps to reproduce this for our development team? Thanks!

          Merging data problems

This is so bizare, I deleted the faulty data range again and merged it with new data and it looked fine for 1 day. Today when I restarted NT the data is corrupted again.

What I did is just delete the faulty data range under tools>historical data>delete and selected the TF 06-09 range.

I then merged the new data from the TF 03-09

I am selecting the dates of Dec 11-08 to March 11-2009

Please see attached picture of data before it gets corrupted.

          Thanks,

            Hello Mexie,

Most likely when you check the chart one day after you merged the data, you retrieve historical data from your data feed provider. This will overwrite the data you merged yesterday. I suggest to take a look at the link below regarding how NinjaTrader loads historical data.

              Historical data

I'm using Zenfire - Mirus, and as far as I know they only offer 15 days of historical data, and the area that is getting corrupted is way further back than 15 days.

So I'm still confused why that specific area is totally wracked?

Is there any way you guys could look at my Data base?

              Thanks for all the help!

When connected to Zen-Fire you have access to more than 15 days of historical data.

Please merge the data once more. Restart NinjaTrader but do not connect to your data feed provider. Create the TF 06-09 chart once more and check if all data is the same after you performed the merge.

Connect to your data feed provider and it will load historical data from the data feed that will overwrite the merged data.
