I pulled up a 125 tick chart with 3 different EMA on the 6E (euro futures). Then in couple other platforms, I did the same. The charts in Ninja aren't in sync with the other platform... Why is it doing this? I know for sure my other platforms are not wrong, because its 2 different platform with 2 differnent providers

Charts not in Sync
I am running the demo version of Ninjatrader with Mirus/Zenfire.

Hello,
Thank you for your post.
Can you please tell me what you mean by "aren't in sync?"
-Are the charts not updating at the same time?
-Try right clicking in your NT chart and select reload historical data, do they match more closely?
This link on how NT build chart bars may also be helpful: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...ChartBars.htmlRay S.NinjaTrader Customer Service

I still don't understand why the charts are not syncing. I don't really understand the concept of "filtering" but, why can't the prices on the tick chart be just based on the last trade?
I was comparing NT tick chart with a platform called QST. high/low/close/open of each tick bar was different. Why? I called QST and asked them if they filter thier data, and they said no, its just based on the last trade.

They might filter the ticks if ticks are at the same price.Originally posted by muna580 View PostI still don't understand why the charts are not syncing. I don't really understand the concept of "filtering" but, why can't the prices on the tick chart be just based on the last trade?

I was developing a strategy for a customer, I was using Zenfire for datafeed and my customer was using PatSystems. I don't remember now exactly but we were watching YM 144 ticks charts and within 2 hour window I had approximately 180 bars while my customer had around 60.
It clearly demonstrated that PatSystems "filtered out" about two thirds of ticks from their feed. I was stoned...

What do u mean by filter the ticks at the same price? Lets take for example 125 tick chart. It would take 125 price changes in order to create 1 bar right?Originally posted by roonius View PostThey might filter the ticks if ticks are at the same price.
Isn't there a way to adjust ninjatrader to match the filter of the other system?

It will take 125 ticks (not the price changes). Tick is last trade occured - it could be the same prace as the trade beforeOriginally posted by muna580 View PostWhat do u mean by filter the ticks at the same price?
