    McClellan Summation Data

Anyone have any luck in finding McClellan Summation historical data available for NT. I am trading with IB and they don't have it. Don't mind paying just can't find it anywhere.

Hi wisepiggy, thanks for the post - which kind of data are you looking for exactly for this?

Please review this link for an overview over the possible data providers and connections we offer for NinjaTrader - http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...ricalData.html

Then all the connectivity providers supporting historical daily data will do.

I could'nt find a listing for the McClellan Summation on Yahoo, so I signed up for Barchart and can't find one on there site either. Anyone know the symbol on Barchart. The symbol's I use in Stockcharts are $NYSI or $NASI

          TIA

Hi wisepiggy, did you contact BarChart already directly? Did you take a look at their symbol guide? If I'm not mistaken you can use the ADD index symbol in NinjaTrader giving you the NYSE Advancing / Declining Issues.

I contacted them. They said they do not carry any of the McClellan Indicators and I cannot find any reference to the ADV/DEL data either.

The setup symbol in NinjaTrader for the Adv/Decl issues is ADD in the Instrument Manager. It points to the $ADRN barchart symbol - http://quotes.barchart.com/quote.asp?sym=%24ADRN

Is there an indicator in place that uses the "ADD" like the McClellan oscillator in NT7?

                    Hi tradetree,

Not that I'm aware of. That said, we'll leave this thread open for the comment of other users.

In another thread one of the NT employees said back in Feb 2010 that they would create and post one. Here is the formula from Investopedia:
Simplified, it looks as follows: (19 Day EMA of Advances - Declines) - (39 Day EMA of Advances - Declines)
Looks like from Bertrand's post the "Advances/Declines" is the "ADD" symbol? So isn't this simply an EMA of the ADD data? I've seen lots of posts about the need for McClellan Oscillator in NT, why can't someone put this together?

                        tradetree,

NinjaTrader does not offer any custom coding services. That said, any of the NinjaScript consultants listed at the following link could code the project for you: http://www.ninjatrader.com/partners....pt-Consultants

Thanks but I'm not looking for a custom indicator. I am wondering why someone from NT offers to add the indicator and then never does? Why do you supply any indicators with NT at all, if you never develop indicators? I am confused by this apparently contradictory statement.

                            tradetree,

Can you tell me which NT support person made this offer and link me to the post where this occurred. (or forward me the email)

Coding new indicators upon request is simply beyond what support we're able to provide you. This is why we have so many NinjaScript development partners who offer the service.

But if I look through indicators available natively in NT, there are many ones in there. It seems like you would want to be competitive with all the other providers of charting / trading software that offer this? It is not exactly exotic by any means.
