Order Status

Hi

A couple of questiond re managing orders/executions:

1) If I make a call to CancelOrder will this also cancel an associated profit target order or will i have to cancel this order seperately?

2) If an order is filled and the profit target order is also subsequently filled what is the status of the order? I.e. I think of this as 'closed' but is there a way to determine if it is closed/profit target hit?

Hi Paul, this depends on if you tied the to cancel IOrder object to another with the OCO string - http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...V6/IOrder.html

For ATM's you want to use then - http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...egyActive.html

To track the orderstates you would use the IOrder objects again, Filled would be the state you look for then.

I would place the target order by virture of the SetProfitTarget ... so if I cancelled the orginal order I guess the profit target order would also get cancelled?

There would be no need to cancel it then, since the target would be submitted only if you got filled on your entry order.
