Free Historical Futures Data?

Please forgive my newbie question: Are there any sources for obtaining free eod and historical data for futures? I'm interested in developing and back-testing mechanical trading systems, so a substantial database of price data is what I'm needing. Naturally, is it available in NT-compatible format? If not, has anyone made a data format converter for NT?

I've searched the forums thoroughly, but could not find an answer to my questions. Thanks!

Thank you for your note.

Unfortunately there is not a totally free source of EOD data for futures. I know that you may recieve a demo at www.zen-fire.com, or you can import historical data as you say if it is in the correct format.
