Importing Data from Tradestation

As I said already. The file name that appears in the Import section is
"ES 06-09" and it apparantly imports the data just fine.
But, if I try to rename the file by adding ".txt" , then
A) the name in the import section appears to say "ES 06-09.txt"
B) the import function will not work
C) the log will say the file is "ES 06-09.txt.txt" Please note that the log is saying the file has two ".txt" so it is preventing the import.
Therefore, it seems the file already has a "txt" extension, even though the Import screen does not read that way.
With regard to when I said: "something else is wrong"' I mean to say that the file apparantly already is viewed as having a "txt" file extension, and since I am missing Globex data, something else must be the explanation for my problems.

I am missing all the Globex data that is generated during the hours my computer is off.
Is there any way we can communicate via Skype to make this process of you trying to help me a lot smoother. This thread is 3 pages long and consists entirely of me trying to get help from Ninja Trader.
Thank you.

By default, Windows Explorer hides known extensions. Open Windows Explorer, go to Tools, Folder Options, click the 'View' tab, and deselect the option to Hide extensions for known files. This will solve your double .txt.txt problem. No idea if it will solve your Ninja problem, but will definitely solve the file name problemOriginally posted by barry370 View PostAs I said already. You have asked me to do the following:
Please try the following and test the import between each step with a NEW chart:
Please try repairing your database:
1. Go to Tools --> Options --> Misc --> Repair DB
Please try repairing your NinjaTrader Installation:
1. Shut Down NinjaTrader
2. Go to Uninstall Programs in the Windows Control Panel
3. Select NinjaTrader and hit the "repair" or "change" button and follow the instructions to repair the installation.
If that does not work, try renaming your database:
1. Shut Down NinjaTrader
2. Go to \Documents\NinjaTrader6.5\db
3. Rename the file NinjaTrader.mbd to OldNinjaTrader.mbd
I am happy to report that when I did the "repair" of Ninja Trader step, and 1- closed my computer and restarted it
2- imported the tradestation 1 minute data
3- opened a new chart
I got all of the missing Globex data.
Thank you for your help.

A) Start --- Control Panel --- Programs and Features
(1) Right click on Ninja Trader --- click on REPAIR
B)Start --- Documents --- Ninja Trader --- db
(1)rename “NinjaTrader.mdb” to “OLDNinjaTrader.mdb”
2- Shutdown computer and restart
3- Start NinjaTrader
A) File --- Connect --- External Data Feed
B) Tools --- Historical Data --- Import
(1) highlight file “ESM09” and delete
4- Start Tradestation
5- on NinjaTrader do the following:
A) Tools --- Historical Data --- Import
(1) highlight file “ESM09” and click on “OPEN”
(a) should get message that data was imported successfully
B)File --- Workspaces --- Open Workspace --- select appropriate Workspace
C) File --- New --- Chart
(1) makesure “Chart Template” is appropriate template

To make this thread complete, you have asked that I reinstall Ninja Trader by doing the following:- Close all running applications.
- Then from the Start menu select --> Control Panel --> Add and Remove Programs.
- From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 6.5 and click Remove.
- Then manually delete the folder "NinjaTrader 6.5" located under Start --> My Documents.
- Delete any NinjaTrader installation files. This can be done by going to Start --> My Computer --> Search button --> search for (NinjaTrader*) --> select Local C Disk and then press search.
- Then you will need to clear your internet browser cache and history. You will clear this from within your internet browser (with IE, Tools-->Options, delete cookies and files, clear history).
- Reboot your machine.
- Once these steps are completed, download NT6.5 from the link below:
