Limit order modification

If I am short 10 at 50 with a buy limit for 10 at 40 andI want to modify the taget to buy limit 5 at 40 and a new second buy limitfor 5 at 45 (ieI want to raise the buy limit on half the pos not all 10...) How do I do this...?

Hi,

If you want to modify a stop or target you can left click on the new price and the stop/target will be modified.

Before you modify, make sure you have 'Single click order modification' is set to True.

Right click in the DOM--> Properties--> Single click order modification--> True.

While this will change the price it does so on all 10 contracts ...I want to modify the order for only 5 of them....how doI change 5 and leave the balance of 5 at the orig limit price...?

What you can do when you have the order working for 10 contracts is to right click in the DOM and then select 'Add Target'. This will create a second target 4 ticks above your first target and splits up the 10 contracts into 5 contracts for each target.

Then for modifying the second target, you need to middle mouse click (scroll wheel) on the new price and your second target will be modified.

When I went to try this my + target button was grayed out and not usable...

why would this be...?

Hello pgabriel:

A couple of reasons why this is greyed out.

1. If you already have 3 targets, you can no longer add more.

2. This can only be done once targets are in place. You cannot use the + Target to modify entry orders.
