trading multiple charts

Hi

When trading off multiple duplicate charts (ie to manage a long term position on one while taking shorter term trades on the other)...I am confused as to the degree of chart independence. I select
"displayselectedATM strategyonly" in ChartTrader Properties, but it seems that if I manually 'close' a position on one chart that it closes the positions in the other as well? Is this right? (this does not seem to happen if a stop is taken out to close the position tho?) Further, what does 'pnl' actually display on each chart both when there are open positions in each ..AND when one is flat and the other has an open position.?

Hello Lindsay,

Thank you for your note.

1.) The CLOSE button will close any orders associated with that instrument, so that is accepted. You will have to choose an order to exit, such as Market or limit, etc.

2.) PnL will show your PnL for open positions for that instrument. It will take all open positions regarding that instrument into account.

however I am seeing that following a completed trade in chart 1.. that the pnl displays do not allign (by a small amount) while there is an open position in chart 2. What is going on here...and thanks for your quick reply!

Try repairing your database: Tools --> Options --> Misc --> Repair DB.
