PFG Historical Tick Data

Just got my PFG data set up this week, does anyone know if I can connect to the servers on the weekend to download tick data for friday, so I can do a tick replay this weekend? Or is it just during the week?

Hello claros,

I am not sure regarding Saturday, but I tested PFG today and got connected and was able to retrieve historical tick data for Friday regarding the ES 03-09.

Note, you can only replay data using the Market Replay with data you recorded and received real-time in prior sessions.

Ok, thank you Jason. That answers my question. I thought maybe we could download the historical tick data, and then use it in NT for tick replay.

Historical data

I'm testing NinjaTrade, I have connecting with PFG Best as a Sim account, I have a live account there as well.

I tried to do historical data and I only get 3 days (I need ranger bar data)

Can you please tell me how I can get it for a longer time?

Have you tried repairing your database under Tools--> Options--> Misc--> Repair DB.

Otherwise try Tools--> Historical Data Reload.

Also make sure you have set up your format data series correctly.

PFG Best 96 hours historical data

I've seen now this on Instalation guide.



Only 96 hours!


How I can have longer time? Other broker? I'd like to have 1 or 2 mounths of TF, NQ and YM futures.

If you choose to use PFGBEST.com servers for historical data:

• Historical daily data for the current day will report a synthetic volume value of 1 since the PFGAPI reports it as zero
• Historicla tick data is limited to the last 96 hours
• We advise that you change your default chart look back settings as per the instructions below to ensure optimal performance

Start NinjaTrader and select the menu Tools > Options > Data Tab.

• Set the "Tick, Volume and Range" look back period to a value of "2"
• Set the"Minute Bars" look back period to a value of 3
