    Gann Fan

Thanks to all for the support, this is great software and a great community here.

How does the Gann Fan draw? Mine is always a straight line. I use the free Gannalyst software with Gann fans, but I'd like to use them in NT.

Just to be clear, I click with the Gann Fan draw tool and it is a flat line, just one line across horizontally.

    Hello tradinginzen,

It should look something like the attached screenshot.

I suggest to double click the line and check if this will open up the properties menu for the drawing tool.

Configue the object to your liking and click Ok. Check if the Gann Fan is displayed as configured.

      Thanks Jason.

For some reason I can't even select the tool once drawn. I will try from a diff. computer later.

You are referring to drawing an Gann Fan drawing object in a NinjaTrader chart, correct?

Let me know the outcome on the other PC.

              Dear Jason,
              Thanks for your answer.
I know how to apply the Gann Fan, but it only draw lines for up trend. I did not see any explanation about how to apply for a down trend.

                Hi,

Double click or right click in the Gann Fan line to get to the properties. Then choose "Down Right" under the "Gann Fan" section.

Please, what determines the setting for POINTS PER BAR ? The default is 0.00010.

                      Hello Lolu,

The 'Points per bar' setting will reflect the tick size of the instrument that is selected in the chart. It will set the ratio the Gann Fan will use.

Will Gann Fan automatically set it for the instrument's tick size? And I must not change it; Right ?

See my attached 15-minute 6E chart; Gann Fan has set the POINTS PER BAR to 0.00010 by default.

Yes, it will be automatically set to the instrument's tick size. You can change it if you like to use a different ratio.

So, if I have, say, a 10Range 6E chart, the POINTS PER BAR will still be 0.00010 by default, or something else.

Is 0.00010 OK for my 15minute chart ?

Yes, the 'Points per bar' setting will reflect 0.00010 by default when selecting a range 10 interval.

Yes, you can use a value of 0.00010 on a 15 minute chart.
