Make an exact copy of NT in a new computer

Hallo,

I just got a new computer and I wanted NT exactly as it was in my old one (with all the historical data and strategies an templates and so on)

I tried it the rough way: Copying the entire "NinjaTrader 6.5" folder in my old computer and paste and replace in the new. Does not work when I compile a strategy, some dll is missing,

I know how to extract strategies, but what about historical data and templates

What is the best way to replicate NT?

Thank you for your note.


The best way to do this is to create a backup file, transfer this to your new PC, and restore it there.

Question..... will it even backup my chart templates.... and even notes I've created on my charts? I just bought another computer dedicated solely for trading and I want it to run NT 24 hours a day. I would hate to have go back through and re label the Elliott Wave counts on dozens and dozens of instruments.

So long as you include all items in the backup, templates, notes and all the rest should be backed up as well.
