Maximum uptime

Hi, I'm thinking of keeping Ninja connected and running 24/7 in the interest of recording tick data, and I'm wondering if there's anyone else who does this. What is the longest that people have left Ninja open and connected to a live feed? Have you had any problems? Thanks.

Hi Radical, this will mostly depend on the maintenance periods of your broker / dataprovider.

A more convenient solution might be to get a datafeed only service like BarChart, eSignal or DTNIQ that provides a tick data backfill.

Or are talking about recording Market Replay data?

I've gone 4 days of uptime recording data.

and the reason it didn't last longer has more to do with my lousy programming skills than anything with ninja.

I think if you have a stable configuration of charts that you're basically just leaving alone to collect data you'd be able to record until you run out of disk space.

I have my system and the (test) strategy running 5x24. On saturday I close this dedicated machine, defrag folders, Windows updates, ..., and Sunday European night I start all again. In the last 3 months the data feed has been closed/disconnect 2 times.
