RSI discrepancy?

Hello,

I am used to using StockCharts and have begun investigating NT as I am a C# programmer by trade and I really like how well this application is done. Great work!

Question, however... it appears that StockCharts has a different RSI calculation than NT. StockCharts uses at least 250 bars of data to calculate the RSI average. If you pull up, for example, a daily chart of AAPL at StockCharts and put a RSI on it then the calculations are different than what NT does. It does not seem major at first but it does seem less accurate. For example, look at the lows in Sept./Oct. 2008.

Any suggestions/thoughts?

I am not aware with StockCharts RSI implementation, but results can differ across platforms, especially if you consider the various potential datasources.

Did you test the raw RSI with smoothing set to 1?

Ok I am a complete idiot, I still had CCI turned on instead of RSI.

Yes the RSI in NT is fine and this software is top notch!!!
