    Trading Multiple Accounts

I am managing two seperate accounts using TT as the backend and NinjaTrader as the frontend.

Is it possible to connect to BOTH accounts at the same time and allocate trades to both accounts simultaneously?

My goal is to be able to trade multiple accounts without having to place duplicate orders for everything I do.

    Thanks much in advance

    Hello,

I don't believe it's possible to have multiple connections at once for TT, your best bet would be to have multiple accounts on one TT connection, if this were possible you could use the account groups function to submit orders in multiple accounts simultaneously.

NOTE: Subsequent cancellations and or order modifications will NOT be replicated against each order, you must manage each replicated order individually.

      i dont fully understand this...

lets say i wanna trade 3 accounts at the same time with 1 click.

      1. i create a new account group with these 3 accounts in it
      2. i choose this group as the (pretended) account to trade in, within the (lets say) charttrader
      3. i place a lmt order and it'll be replecated to all 3 accounts.

      thats what i understood.

      now comes the questions:

lets say the orders were filled and i have ATM stuff working, which should place 1 stop loss order and 2 targets.

does they all get submitted to the sub-accounts?

next. i do have a kind of a trailing stop for the second target with a move to b/e after x stops.

does it handle that? i mean, does it move the stop to b/e and trail on all sub-accounts?

i dont wanna test that live..

      thank you.

          ok, thats not good..

this should be added in the future.. buttontrader has done this in a great manner. you are even able to define a multiplier.. lets say you have a 200k and a 400k account. you can then define, that the 200k account always trades the double amount of the 400k-account. so, if you enter a trade with 10 cars on the 200k, it enters with 20 cars on the 400k account.

          but,

anyway.. bertrand, thank you for your reply..!

          lightning fast as usual

The request that Goose4All suggested this time last year -

"this should be added in the future.. buttontrader has done this in a great manner. you are even able to define a multiplier.. lets say you have a 200k and a 400k account. you can then define, that the 200k account always trades the double amount of the 400k-account. so, if you enter a trade with 10 cars on the 200k, it enters with 20 cars on the 400k account."

Is this going to be implemented in a later release of NinjaTrader 6.5 or the upcoming release of Ninjatrader 7?

                  Thanks.

                    Hello rtrader,

While I have not heard whether or not this will be added to NinjaTrader 6.5 or 7, I will forward your comments supporting this suggestion on to my development team.

                      Kyle -

Could you find out whether it is or not please? There have been many asking for this over the months and years.

                      Just piling on the pressure.....

                        Hi rtrader,

Unfortunately, there is no official word on whether or not this will be added. When that information becomes available, we will update this thread.

                          You can do it!

I have also began to use the multiply order entry groups and have found the limitations. Please forward my concerns to the developers and give them a good prod to fix this issue.

The initial entries and ATM settings are executed to perfection.

The trouble comes when you want to edit this across the entire group and the changes are reflected in one account only.

I would like to see one "master" account, ie the group account that was able to controll several other "slave" accounts that would copy all entries, ATM and manual modifications of the master account to the letter. That would be not short of awesome and to be honest what I expected from the group function.

When dealing with 2 or 3 accounts it is not a major problem to edit each one separately but think of how powerful this feature will become using the "master" and "slave" accounts. In theory you could control as many "slave" accounts as you like with just one "master" account. This would then truly become a powerful feature and allow me to manage a large number of managed accounts for my clients. Come on ninja trader, we know you can do it!!!

                              parent/child order changes

Let me 'pile on' for this improvement...
For those of us involved with many accounts
NT is unusable due to this limitation on
parent/child order changes. One is forced to
use a different order entry platform which can
                              accommodate.
