Can not see text in text properties tool

I use white text on a black background, and when I add text to a chart via the text tool, I can not see the text in the text entry field of text properties window. In text properties, I have the outline width set to zero, the background color set to Black, background opacity set to zero, and the font color set to White.

The text typed in does show up on the chart correctly, but the text can not be observed in the text properties window because the field background seems to be hard coded to white instead of matching the selected color. The text foreground color does match the selected font color. If you select the text in the field it is there because it becomes highlighted on selection.

This needs to be fixed as it is very difficult to change text if you can not see it.

White text on a black background.

I have the same problem. Using a dark enough color to see easily on the white background of the text editing box makes it difficult to see on the black chart background.

Related problem

This problem also has another aspect. When I'm using the text tool on a black background, the floating "A" that appears next to the cursor arrow is black and thus can't be seen against a black background.
