Profit Condition

I am testing an ma crossover system, open at EOD, and attempting to impose a profit condition, such that the trade will close either on the ma crossover or when the open trade reaches 34% profit, whichever is sooner.

I have used the profit target window to set a 34% profit target, but the Orders tab of the backtest the order status of those orders named profit target in the "name" column are marked as "canceled". This doesn't quite seem right.

Must I enter the profit target in the condition builder in the same window as the ma cross over conditions? Do I use "unrealized profit" = to "numerical value" 34? "Realized profit"? These don't seem to work either.

Thanks for the response. Here are the screenshots of 2 condition builder windows and the profit & stops panel.

attached is the zip file of the orders on the backtest showing that every trade noted as profit target is canceled.

Hope this clarifies the problem.

You are calling an ExitLong() right before you do EnterShort(). You should not do this. Just call EnterShort() directly. NinjaTrader will automatically close out a long position if you have one open when it sees an EnterShort() before getting you into a short position.
