Limited Historical Data from IB Feed

Hi there,
When loading up charts in NT using an Iteractive Brokers feed for the SPI Index the furtherest back I can get with historical data is june 2008. I have tried daily, weekly and monthly bars and going back multiple years but nothing i select will get me back further than 2008. When the chart is loading the years flick up on the screen as if it is processing the data but always the chart only shows to june 2008.
Are there any settings I may have missed that could cause this?

Are there any errors in your log tab?


What symbol mapping are you using for this instrument?

Hi Michael,
I am using the standalone TWS build 887.
There are no errors in the log tab.
I am using the SPI March 09 contract with the symbol APH9.

The NT charting and indicators work perfectly with this data feed except for not being able to go back past mid 2008 with the historical data.

Have you tried merging contracts and creating one continuous contract?

Hi Vincent,
I tried merging contracts but get an error "you need to select a valid instrument" when i choose an SPI contract going back before june 2008.

Hello pcrage,

I suggest to create the SPI instruments with the older expiry months in the Instrument Manager.

Create charts for each instruments; SPI 03-08, SPI 06-08, SPI 09-08, etc, so NinjaTrader will load its historical data in its database.

Merge the 03-08 into the 06-08 and so on.
