Interactive Brokers

I am currently using both Think or Swim and Interactive Brokers. I would like to use NT and Interactive Brokers. While I have been experimenting with NT and IB, I have noticed that there is a vast difference in the speed of order execution.

When I place an advanced future contract order with TOS it is filled in less than 1 second. With NT and IB it may take 2 - 6 seconds. In the futures world that is an eternity.

Am I doing something wrong with the install setup? If not, is there any way to speed up the order executions.

Normally, IB is held in pretty high regard with order execution speed.

Try placing a test order in TWS directly (leave NT out of it). Might give you a clue where the problem lies, if there is any change.

Also I would suggest using a limit order for the ES if you are trading that, not a market order. Globex simulates market orders at the broker, you are better off (faster fill) placing a limit order at the ask.
