Auto Trail Stop

I am new to NT. I want to use the adjustable trail stop based on degree of profit, but I am a little confused. Let me give you an example.

Say, I initiate a Buy Stop Limit order. Stop and Limit at same price.
Also, I have OCO order for a 10 tick profit and and 5 tick loss as a
bracket order to Sell.

Now, I want to use the Stop Strategy to do the Trail Stop and raise the
and follow the profit as it moves higher. Say I want to trigger it at 5 ticks profit and raise the stop by 5 ticks.

How do I implement this?

Thank you for your post.

I am not entirely clear on your strategy, but you should be able to do this by setting up a trailing stop of 5 ticks and frequency of 5.

I initiate a Buy with a Stop Limit.

With that order I have an OCO Bracket of +10, -5

The -5 is in reality a stop limit order.

The -5 stop keeps me from a catastrophic loss.

What I want, assuming I was correct, is to protect any profit I may get
below the +10 Bracket limit sell.

I am not sure how NT does this. I assume that, in addition to the -5 bracket stop sell limit, NT will raise that stop if I add the Auto Trail function so that I can raise the sell stop based on a profit trigger.

NinjaTrader Auto Trail can raise the ATM stop with a profit trigger, however you will have to raise the manual stop yourself as this cannot be done automatically. Auto Trails also cannot be placed on manually entered stops.

Bracket Order

I am confused. Are you saying that the Bracket Order with the sell stop at -5 is a manual order?

I guess I need to experiment with the demo program.

The Auto Trail feature is only supported part of an ATM strategy (pre-defined stop loss and profit target). Please see the link below for more information.

If you submitted your stop loss and profit target manually, meaning after you are in a position using the OCO feature, a trailing stop is not supported and you will need to manually modify the stop loss.

Update

Actually, in the demo mode it does.

I did a BUY STOP LIMIT, OCO BRACKET +20,-20

set a Stop Strategy
of trigger 10, stop 10, 1

and it worked

It moved the OCO Bracket -20 stop to -10

Correct, it will work upon using an ATM strategy, but not using manually submitted bracket orders using the OCO feature.
