I have the Intel Quad 6600 and use NinjaTrader daily. I'm using v6.5.1000.7 and it works very well. I am presently using Win XP, but may switch to Vista 32 bit soon. I'm sure NT is not taking advantage of a Dual or Quad chip. But it works okay.

    Javier,

If you are building from scratch, consider a Core i7 based system (check out newegg.com). They are expensive though.

Otherwise, a good compromise is to get a Socket 775 board and a Quad 6600. You can get the board, CPU, and 8GB of memory for $400 shipped from Newegg. Keep in mind to use more than 3.5GB of memory you'll need a 64-bit OS like Vista x64.

NT 6.5 may not support more than one core, but your system will still thank you. NT 7, expected Q1 2009 in beta form, is slated to support multiple cores. Also keep in mind that NT does not officially support x64 OS's at this time, although many in the forum are running it.

PM me if you need help.

    Mike

    Hello Javier,

    Thank you for your note.

Unfortunately Dual and Quad processors are not supported. They are on the list of possible future enhancements.
