    volume display

    Hi
I have just started looking at some currency pairs on NT, using Zenfire data. I have previously looked at futures indices with no problem....but with currency pairs the volume to the left of the bar that is current when I go in are not visible. If I then scroll to the left (so that the current bar is off screen to the right)...all the historical volume bars appear. Can someone help?

    thanks

You will need to use a higher volume value as interval. I suspect the volume interval value is too low, so NinjaTrader creates new 'bars' (stripes) very frequently.

I was referring to the interval value of the chart. I am not sure what interval value currently is used, but I suggest to use a higher value.

For example, if you are using a 500 Volume interval in your chart, I suggest to use a 5000 Volume interval.

More information can be found at the link below.

Are you thinking its a scaling question? I dont think so becuase there is simply no bars at all to the left of when I open the chart. see image hopefully attached.

Historical forex data comes from a different source using Zen-Fire.

Order quantity between the historical data and real-time data is different.

Historical volume data is displayed as 1 lot = 1. Real time volume data is displayed as 100,000 or 10,000.

You can check this in the Data Box when hovering your mouse above historical data and collected real-time data.

ok..so I take it that there is nothing that can be done to remedy this except use a Fx provider (or NT?) that has historical data?

                thannks

This is how the data feed works. In general FX doesn't have "real" volume so this is not a concern.

NinjaTrader acts like a radio receiver in that we display data as it is provided. Unfortunately there is no workaround.
