Do simulated stops get hit less than "hard" stops?

I am considering using simulated stops but am concerned about computer /connectivity issues. In actual experiences are simulated stops and better than broker held "hard" stops?

Hello ninjablanks,

Simulated stops will only trigger if the volume is less than the defined volume trigger; ask volume when going long, bid volume when going short.

This will delay the triggering of the stop order and can prevent you from stopping out the position prematurely. More information regarding simulated stops can be found at the link below.
