How to add futures from Interactive brokers

Hello prorege,

You can manually add new instruments by clicking the New-button in the Instrument Manager. Enter instrument specific information and select the appropriate exchange (add Default exchange for equities in addition to the actual exchange). Fill in any relevant information under the "Misc" tab such as symbol mapping for your target connectivty provider.

for futures, there are several expiration dates to one symbol. how can i differentiate one expiration date from another in the instrument manager ?

Please see the screenshot where you can define the expiry month before adding the instrument to your instrument list.

Can I connect to IB demo account

Is it possible for ninja trader to connect ?

I keep getting this message

"login failed: IB adapter........ No connection could be made because the
target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:7496"

Hello proprege,

Yes, you should be able to connect. Make sure you setup the connection as per the connection guide at the link below.

Ensure you have TWS version 887.2 installed.

If the error persists, please try 'localhost' as Host (optional) instead of 127.0.0.1.
