    Hello Lindsayf,

    Thank you for your post.

Please follow the instructions below to rollover the expiration date of a futures contracts.
    • From within the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Instrument Manager
    • Highlight the contract you wish to rollover in the left side of the Instrument Manager window
    • Press the ">" button (the instrument will disappear from the list)
    • Press the "<" button and the instrument should re-appear with the front month expiration date
Click here for a video and further instructions

I have done that but supect I have stuffed something up. I get error message thus "error loading chart ES 02-09 NT does not support this instrument, no data available."

      what should I do?

Please use 03-09 for a valid front month for the ES.

          thanks that was it.
I also notice that I only have about 2 weeks of historical data on the one minute chart and that if I use the daily chart that I only get one bar to display? I use the free version, am I able to extend how much historic data I can see?
          thanks

Unfortunately Zen-Fire does not support historical daily data, which explains the single bar when creating a daily chart.

You can increase the look back period of the minute chart by modifying the range settings in the Format Data Series window of the chart. Right click in the chart and select 'Format Data Series'. Modify the range settings to your liking to increase the look back period.
