Gain Symbols?

Hi,

I'm connected to GAIN but when using the market analyzer I'm only receiving data for 15 currency pairs, not the 37 listed here:

http://www.forex.com/trade_pricing.html

Am I missing something?

But I get no data for the following:

AUDCHF
EURCAD
AUDNZD
CADCHF
CHFJPY
EURDKK
AUDCAD

Actually, I can download chart data for the following symbols aswell:

GBPCHF
GBPNZD
NZDCAD
GBPCAD
EURNZD
NZDCHF
EURAUD
EURCAD
AUDNZD
CHFJPY
AUDCAD

But, they do not show any prices in the market analyzer, superdom or fxpro. I get absolutely nothing for these though:

I was able to get data for the majority of these symbols except for the following:


EURNOK
EURSEK
USDDKK
USDNOK
USDSEK


Please reset your instrument then retest to see if you get data for the pairs you were previously unable to.

To reset your instruments please: go to the Tools menu, select the Options menu item, select the Misc tab, and then click on 'Reset Instruments'.

I tried that and I'm getting the same results. Actually, I've been getting the same results on 3 different machines since I opened the account. Are you able to see those prices in the market analyzer or only on charts? I've only ever been to able to see prices as in the attached screenshot.

I suggest to contact Gain and check if your account is authorized to receive data for these instruments.

Problem solved. Gain were a bit confused too to start with, but it turned out to be a problem at their end. Apparently there are symbols that you are authorised to access, and symobls that you can see... two different things.

Hi guys,

I have all my symbols set up and can now access them through Gain's ForexTrader software, which interestingly enough also provides daily data and extensive historical data. I wonder why they don't supply this via the datafeed so we can access it in NT?

Anyhow, whilst everything looks fine in ForexTrader, and I can see live prices for all my symbols in the Market Analyzer for NT, I still have problems bringing up historical charts for the following:

1 Tick Charts:

$CADCHF
$CADJPY
$GBPJPY
$NZDJPY
$SGDJPY
$USDHKD
$USDSGD

1 Minute Charts:

$AUDCHF
$CADCHF
$CADJPY
$NZDJPY
$SGDJPY
$USDHKD
$USDSGD

When I create a chart for these in NT, I get either no data, very limited data (i.e. only several bars) or data that seems to stop about 6 months ago (i.e. no data for the last 6 months, but some data prior to that). In the case of $USDSGD I get a message saying that NT servers do not support this symbol.

Are you able to confirm whether I should be able to see any data for these charts?

Using Gain servers for historical data in NinjaTrader will provide 24 hours of historical data only. Using NinjaTrader servers will provide you far more historical minute and tick data.

I suggest to enable NnjaTrader servers for historical data in your Gain connection. Check what charts do display the requested historical data. If some instruments do not display the requested historical data, it is not supported by the NinjaTrader server.
