Day Trading Back Up

Just out of curiosity, what types of back up does everyone use for Day trading? I use comcast cable for my Internet access, there are those rare times when the electric goes out... so if this happens while I have positions opened I would be screwed...

I plan on using my laptop hooked up to DSL connection for a back up...is this what others do?

The other option I thought about was a phone with different internet access and just login and close out any posistions from IB directly...

Once I pay for a license for NT how many computers can I install and run NT on within the license? I would like to have the live NT on this computer and on my lap top for emergency back up....

As far as licensing goes, it would not be possible to have multiple instances of a live license running simultaneously. You can have it installed on multiple computers, just not running at the same time.

If your electricity goes out while you have an open order I recommend contacting your broker to manage the trade.
