Merging Contracts with Zen Fire

ok i have fiddled with this for way too long...

here is what i am trying to accomplish:

I want to run live minute and volume charts that look back across 2 or 3 contracts

Could someone (developer or support from ninja trader) please give precise instructions on how to do this.

If i set my look back to 180 days, can i never hit reload historical data?

Please help.

yes i have questions...

ok what i want is to have a chart, lets say its 1 min and has a look back of 180 days

the format data series will always contain the current date

so its my understanding that evertime i connect, because the format data series has the current day...it will always reload the data, therefore overwiting the merge.

If i change the lookback period to a particular date (thurs March 12), then my chart only goes back to that date....but i want it to show 180 days...

But vol charts still show just like Brewer's post in this thread

Hi LaserDan,

Please disregard the last post.

Try using Brewer's directions, but if you want to load a volume chart:
While connected to Zen-Fire open an ES 03-09 and an ES 06-09 volume chart.

Then disconnect and attempt the merge data again and let me know if it works.

Hi All,

I want to achieve exactly the same, but for the FTSE futures. I am using ESignal data only feed.

I have spoken ESignal and according to them they have the historical data across 4 contracts...
Z M9-EEI, Z H9-EEI, Z U9-EEI and Z Z9-EEI. I have the NT/Esignal data for FTSE only from 12th Mar to today. The symbol mapping for FTSE 100 index futures is Z!EEI in the Instrument manager.

Basically, I want to "see" the data for all these 4 contracts(1 year worth) as a single instrument, on which I can backtest/optimize. Currently I can only go back to 12th Mar 2009.

I hope someone can help :-(
