    Trouble merging contracts

Im trying create a continuous chart for the 03-09 ES contract by merging it with the 12-08 ES contract. I am entering the information like the example in the help section and I am getting an error message saying:

-No 'day' data available for 'from' instrument
-No 'minute data available for'to' instrument. Historical data is required for the target instrument in order to properly calculate for the adjustment factor.
-No tick data available for 'to' instrument. Historical dat is required for the target instrument in order to properlycalculaate the adjustment factor.

I am using the Zen fire data feed. Does anyone know what is wrong? Thanks

    I am getting the same.
I exported the 12-08 data and loaded it.
Then clicked to merge but it says this message.

Well I changed the 'to' day fom 12/11 to 12/10 and got a message saying

no 'tick' data merged from previous instrument
      'minute' data sucessfully merged
      no'day' data merged

and my volume charts are not right. I right clicked on the chart and then clicked reload historical data and they still are not correct.

        Hello,

I tested this and was able to merge the data by changing the to date to 12/10. I built a 150 tick ES chart 40 days back and it pulled up this far back. Please use the screen shot as reference.

          I did exactly that.

I tried to load a 30,000 volume chart 15 days back and it does not work. When I load the same chart on the 12/08 contract it works fine.

The data seems to be compressed on my new tick an volume charts.

Please reset your instruments and then try again. Go to Tools--> Options--> Misc--> Reset Instruments.

Let me know if this works for you.

                      Hi trader65,
You can look into eSignal as data supplier for your NinjaTrader, they provide automatic continuous contracts...

I reset my insruments and it was no help. Its really a blow to your confidence trading when you cannot pull up proper looking charts.

There is a post in the Miscellaneous support forum by Bigappl on how to get this to work.

Something weird is going on. I had it working temporarily when I was not connected to Zen-fire. But when I connected again the data was corrupt.

I was able to merge by doing the following: change all my screens to the 12_08 contract, then merge the data using the instructions on their tutorial, change the end date of the from contract (12-08) to 12/10/08, and then change the contract on all my screens to the new one (3-09). Make sure you update the contract one screen at a time (wait till it loads b4 going to the next chart) otherwise NT will crash. Hope that helps
