tick charts

Hi
Using NT sim/demo...When I select new chart/tick chart...I get a chart that has variable volume per bar...there must be something wrong? Volume charts seem to calculate correctly.

Is there any reason why a tick chart cant work on the free/demo software?

Tick charts are supported in the free version.

Different volume per price bar when using a tick interval can be as expected.

i thought a tick bar had a constant volume ie 233?

Tick is a trade. A trade can have Volume from 1 to whatever based on the instrument. So 1 Trade with 1000 shares is 1 Tick on a Tick Chart but can be 2 bars on a 500 Volume chart.

so does that mean on a 233 tick chart, that each bar is 233 trades, and the volume is the actual number of contracts traded in that bar?
