Index symbols

I'm connected to ameritrade and need to chart indices. When I input the symbols as would under ameritrade for the indices e.g. ($indu, $spx.x) for DOW and S&P 500, Ninjatrader does not accept the symbols, I get invalid symbols warning.

Any Ideas..

Welcome to the NinjaTrader forum!

Please use DJIA for the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index and SP500 for the SP500 index.
