multiple nt files

hi
do i need both these folders and the files with in?:

My Documents/NinjaTrader 6.5
c/program files/NinjaTrader 6.5

the shortcut I use open "C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 6.5\bin\"

they do seem to have different files - is this correct set-up?

This is correct, you need both folders.

For your daily work with NinjaTrader you want to change your shortcut to the MyDocuments one.

thanks, but there is no exe file anywhere in the my documents one???

The NinjaTrader.exe is located in C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 6.5\bin, which is default after the installation.

Your database, templates and workspaces etc. are located in the MyDocuments\NinjaTrader6.5 folder.

my shortcut is to open ninjatrader.

Hi sub5mango,

To open NinjaTrader the shortcut set by the installation to the C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 6.5\bin is correct and should not be changed.

The MyDocuments folder is just meant for your custom files inside NinjaTrader.

So leave the shortcut for starting NinjaTrader as it is and you should be fine.
