IB connection intermittent

TWS 887.2

While trying to use my IB connection I will often get a message that the username or password are incorrect or the service is unavailable. I must try four or five times before it takes. Please note that logging into TWS outside of NT as a test works fine.

Why is this happening? The connection settings are exactly as described in the IB connection guide and this is a recent occurance.

Can you please confirm you have NinjaTrader 6.5.1000.7 installed.

Does this only occur during the weekend?

Did you experience any of these issues today?

Could it be upon connecting to IB in NinjaTrader and TWS pops up, you were typing on your keyboard. As a result of TWS popping up you typed into the username and password field of TWS, which caused the connection error.

No, happened today, Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 during market hours.

No other programs or keyboard entries are made. I simply open NT (default workspace) and then File, IB connection and sit back and watch it reject.

Yes, I've tried deleting the connection setup and adding another. Same problem.

Can you open up TWS first and then connect NT to it. Does the same message come up?

That's the way I've been doing it as a workaround... I have to open TWS first, NT and then use my IB connection. No message pop-ups come up using this method.

It's just frustrating that I now need to take these extra steps that I didn't need before.
