    After-market bars?

    Hi,

I'm back on my home machine, and running some tests. I just launched a chart with a dummy strategy setup at 30 minutes... and was surprised to see what looks like after-market/extended trading bars.

I hadn't noticed these before earlier today while trading live at the office, and certainly didn't notice them during back-testing. I don't think I want to look at them in my strategy.

How did they get in here? How do I filter them out of the chart and strategy?? (I know I can do it in code just by checking Time[0]... but there must be a configuration option?)

Just noticed I'm getting pre-market bars too. Very interesting. I guess that's not info that's available in back-testing? Can't decide how I'm going to use this.

      heech,

NinjaTrader has always shown pre-market and after market data if you are still connected to your data feed during those hours and if your data provider offers that information. If you do not wish to see this information you want to change your chart's session begin/end times and that will remove them processing by a strategy run on a chart. If you are running a strategy from the Strategies tab you will want to change the strategy's session start/end time to remove the extended hours.

In the chart to bring up the session begin/end properties just double click anywhere to bring up the Properties window. You should find the properties in there.

        Got it, understood.

By the way, happy to say the new code (fingers crossed) seems to be working. I originally wanted to stay away from OnOrderUpdate() because I didn't want to think about error-handling... but yea, looks like it was the way to go.
