Login failed - target machine actively refused it

Upon attempting to login into my IB account, I get the following message:

Login failed: IB.Adapter.MessageLoop No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.


This appears after I enter the pass code numbers following the automatic entry of my IB account and password.

Any suggestions?

In reading the Installation section of the Help file, I note that the program claims to be incompatable with 64 bit OS.

I am using Vista Ultra 64 bit.

Is that likely to be the problem here?

After reviewing the video on "connections", I seem to be able to connect now. However, I did not change any further settings.

For now the problem seems to be solved.

NinjaTrader 6.5 is not supported on 64 bit OS'. It is possible you are able to run NinjaTrader on such an OS. However if you experience issues, we would suggest to install NinjaTrader on a 32 bit OS.

NinjaTrader 7 will be supported on 64 bit OS', its beta version is expected the first quarter of 2009.
