    crash in e-signal dll?

    Hi,

I'm having serious crash problems. I'm having a seperate dialog with support, but wanted to put the message on here too in case other people have experience of it.

Having re-installed, backed up, restored NT, .NET, e-signal and etc numerous times, it appears the problem is with the stuff I have set up in NT since installing it - it doesn't appear to crash without extra connections, strategies etc.

I'm not getting too much insight from support on logs or traces, so looking around myself it appears the crash may be occuring in an e-signal related module. The windows log crash message is

Faulting application ninjatrader.exe, version 6.5.1000.7, faulting module ninjatrader.esignal.unmanaged.dll, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00009ac1.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    thanks
    Dave

I have 3 connections to 3 different brokers and I have noticed that one particular brokers data feed seems to crash my ninja repeatedly, I have to reboot a few times a day, I don;t know if it is the API or the data feed itself. Try setting up a demo account with another broker to see if their data feed helps your platform run smoother. Also if you are running multiple connections and strategies having enough memory is crucial..

Which eSignal version are you on?

        E-signal version 10.20 (build 396) 10/04/2008 (From help/about)

Although when I downloaded this version it said it was 10.2.1

Hmm ... sorry, not sure what could cause that.

Well, could you say if that module is part of e-signal or NT? Should I expect to see a stack trace in the trace file? Has anyone tried NT with .NET 3.5? Does it work with that version?

This is a module of NT which calls the eSignal API (and crashes there). You need to have .NET 2.0 installed (please see system requirements on download page).
