    IQ feed connect to NT7

    Hi I am trying to connect IQ feed to my NT7 version 7.0 1000.35 to get data into some legacy indicators I have on that setup which was not migrated to NT8

    I set up the connection but on trying to connect I get the message:

    "Login failed. Unable to start IQConnect process IQConnect.exe The system cannot find the file specified"

    Please tell what I need to do.

    Thank you for your message.


    I see that you're running an older version of NinjaTrader 7. The newer version contains many critical updates to the database. Please update NinjaTrader 7 and reset your instruments:

    First, to update NinjaTrader, please follow the steps below:
    • First, get your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key then exit NinjaTrader
    • Click on the link: https://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
    • Enter your license key and press Submit
    • Under 'Prior Releases' select the version next to 'NinjaTrader 7' to begin your download.
    • Before running the installer, ensure that NinjaTrader is closed.
    Lastly, to reset your instruments, please follow the steps below:
    • Disconnect from your data feed: NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Disconnect> Select your data feed
    • Reset your Instruments: NinjaTrader Control Center> Tools> Options> Data tab> Reset Instruments>OK
    • Restart NinjaTrader> Connect (NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Connect> Select your connection

    After you have updated, please also ensure that you are using the correct version of IQFeed's software for connecting to NinjaTrader 7 as other versions will not work correctly. You may download this version from our IQFeed Connection Guide here.

      Hi Justin,

      thanks for the info.

      The legacy indicators that I have do not work for later versions of NT7 - but just to test I downloaded the IQ connection program per your link and installed it.

      On restarting NT7 and setting up the IQFeed cnnection it worked with the version of NT7 I have installed here. I can see data and charts are populating which will allow me to test the indicators.

      Once in a while I do see a popup which says invalid server response but still charts are still functioning after 15 minutes.
