Futures Symbol Updating

I have always used the instrument manager to update futures symbols. Lately I have begun using a lot more symbols, and ones that update more frequently.
Is there a way to automate keeping the front month symbol in the list of current symbols?

Not with NinjaTrader 7.

This is a new feature in NinjaTrader 8 to update all charts, market analyzers, and other windows, and all instruments all at the same time with click of one button.

For NinjaTrader 7, you are going to have to continue manually updating everything one by one.


Please note, NinjaTrader 7 is no longer in active development and we are no longer considering new feature requests or changes for NinjaTrader 7. Main development has shifted to our flagship platform NinjaTrader 8. This does mean updates from brokerages, data feeds, or operating systems that require an update in NinjaTrader will not be implemented in NinjaTrader 7 and may cause an interruption in service.

While there is not a set ETA for the complete discontinuation of NinjaTrader 7, we highly recommend transitioning to NinjaTrader 8 as soon as possible before NinjaTrader 7 reaches its end of life to prevent interruption of service.

I am using the NT7 free version with external data feed from Tradestation. I develop trading code for a broker who uses the TS-NT NtDirect.dll hookup.
Is there a free version of NT8 as with NT7?

Hello Atomic,

Both NinjaTrader 7 and NinjaTrader 8 work the same and is based on your license key.

The Simulation Only license allows you to connect for data, practice trade with the Sim101 account, and test any Trader+ features in simulation.

The Free live license allows for live trading, but does not include Trader+ features.
