Saving backtest parameters?

Hi there,

I setup backtest parameters (including non-user inputs like time frame, bars required). I close Ninjatrader, "saving default workspace". I reopen Ninjatrader...

And then all of a sudden, the parameters are back to their defaults. A little annoying.

Is there a way to save these parameters? Ideally each instrument list could remember their own... but that might be asking too much. Thanks in advance.

You can set default values of your variables in your code, like "myval1 = 1" etc, and when the backtest is loaded and the params dialog box opens, it will default to those values.

I do not know a way to change the default data interval period.

I'd like to piggy back a question here --- is there a way to make strategy analyzer default to currency instead of percentage? I tried saving the workspace, no difference --- I have to change it Every. Single. Time. and it's just a small annoyance.

I've seen 'Parameters Save' input in a strategy in the strategy anayzer backtest page that saves current inputs. Is this a Ninja 7 command or feature, or special code?

Correct, this is a new NT7 feature : you can right click in the SA parameters and save a 'default' set per strategy.
