Explanation of 10053 and 10061 error codes

I am using nt 6.5.1000.7 which is connected to tradestation running remotely and PFG for data with version 1.0.410 of their API

I am getting the following error messages in my NT log:

11/7/2008 9:42DefaultRefresh Socket Error Code: 10053 Network connection aborted by local host (10053)11/7/2008 9:42DefaultRefresh Socket Error Code: 10053 Network connection aborted by local host (10053)11/7/2008 9:42DefaultRefresh Socket Error Code: 10061 The connection has been refused by the remote host (10061)11/7/2008 9:42DefaultRefresh Socket Error Code: 10053 Network connection aborted by local host (10053)11/7/2008 9:41DefaultRefresh Socket Error Code: 10053 Network connection aborted by local host (10053)11/7/2008 9:40DefaultRefresh Socket Error Code: 10057 No connection established with remote host (10057)11/7/2008 9:40DefaultRefresh Socket Error Code: 10053 Network connection aborted by local host (10053)11/7/2008 9:40DefaultRefresh Socket Error Code: 10053 Network connection aborted by local host (10053)

can you tell me if all these errors relate to the connection with PFG data servers and if any relate to the ATI connection with tradestation

    10053
    10057
    10061

    Thanks,

    Joe

Please make sure you have the PFG API version installed which you can download from our web site.

If errors persist then please shut down TS to eliminate one factor.

On the error codes you would need to check the web, since likely these are window error codes.

Are 10053, 10057, and 10061 error related only to data connection?

This is a very simple question, the software works fine until these errors appear, can you please answer this rather simple question related to errors in your software log

Unfortunately we don't know why the PFG API issues these windows socket error messages. Please proceed as per below to isolate TradeStation and ATI as a potentially contributing factor.

            Hello rightcoast,

Am I correct these errors occur right after you got connected to PFG and data is being loaded in the charts you have opened?

The error messages refer to stock instruments. PFG only supports futures and forex data. I suggest to close the charts or other windows that have these instruments selected before you connect to PFG to avoid these errors.

In addition, we recommend to only repair or reset the database when instructed by a support member.

Yes, I assumed you were using PFG because you posted in this thread.

What was your initial issue? I assumed you referred to the PFG API errors reported in this thread.

I notice these instruments are not listed by default in NinjaTrader. What exchange do you have enabled for these instruments in addition to the Default exchange? Please note that stocks require two exchanges to be enabled in NinjaTrader 7 - the Default exchange and the exchange the instrument is traded on.
