My bar timer is malfunctioning

My bar timer counts down to zero seconds, yet the bar continues to form. Eventually, the next bar starts but the counter doesn't begin at the normal beginning of that bar's time (e.g., 1 minute). Instead, it starts its count at some smaller interval (e.g., 48 seconds). Obviously, this is a malfunction. Thanx for any help you can offer.
