forex buy stop

what triggers the buy stop. is it the bid price crossing the stop or the ask. the same question for sell stop. is it the bid price or the ask price crossing the stop.

Upon trading forex the ask price will trigger orders.

when the spreads are large, the buy stop gets triggered quickly. how can i modify so that only the bids can tryigger the buy stop.

Please tell me what data feed provider you are connected to.

Are you referring to manual stop orders or stop losses part of an ATM strategy?

i use IB for forex and/or DTN for futures. this is part of manual buy stop or sell stop for entering into trades

In that case stop orders submitted in the Buy column will fill at the ask price and stop orders submitted in the Sell column will fill at the bid price.

when i do chart trader, how can i differentiate between buy or sell column. i dont see it. there is only buy stop options available and no additional detail

If you right click in the chart above the market price you can submit buy stop orders.

If you right click below the market price, you can submit sell stop orders.

how can i buystop using charttrader and ensure that the buystop happens when the bid crosses the stop price and not much earlier when the ask crosses the stop price. in times of wide spreads, i get into false trades becuase the ask crosses the stop price and fills

ah common guys. your commercial states industry most flexible end to end realtime strategy development and automation platform.

there must be some way to achieve what i am looking for. let me know what options that i have. i can program in c# to death but would like to use NT to reduce the developmetn efforts.
