NinjaTrader 7 and NinjaTrader 8

Hi, quick question. Can I install NinjaTrader 8 on the same PC as NinjaTrader 7? I havent upgraded to NinjaTrader 8 yet but would like to run both for a short time as I transition across to NT8..... Is this possible?

Yes, both are able to be installed and ran at the same time if needed.

While both NT7 and NT8 can be running at the same time, there is still a catch.

After setting up the same live account connection credentials in both NT7 and NT8,
you will (most likely) only be able to connect to that live account on one platform at a time.

That is,
connecting to the same live account on NT8 (while connected in NT7) will most likely
force a disconnection on NT7 -- and vice versa.

This will depend on the broker/data provider you are connecting to. If your broker/data provider does not allow concurrent connections, in some cases they can assign an additional account you can connect to so both platforms can be connected simultaneously.
