    Ninjatrader slow

I just signed up for the live continuum version & I noticed the bars are forming very slow, is there a reason for that? Its almost 9:30am & only a few bars have been formed. The ticker is running, is the market slow today?

    Hello tcea9,

    Thank you for your post.
    • What instrument symbol (and expiry if applicable) have you selected? For example, ES 12-20, AAPL, EURUSD, etc.
    • (For a chart) what interval is selected? For example, 5 minute, 1 day, 2000 volume, 4 Renko, etc.
    • Do you receive an error on screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?
    • How many total workspaces do you have open in the background and foreground?
    • How many total charts do you have open? How many tabs on each chart?
    • How many indicators are on each chart?
    • Do you see any discrepancy between the last price that is displayed on your chart and the last price displayed in a SuperDOM or Market Analyzer?
I look forward to your reply.

      - using ES 03-21
      - 2000 tick
      - no errors
      - 1 workspace
      - 1 chart
      - ema & tick indicators
      - no discrepancy

          Hello tcea9,

          Thank you for your reply.

It doesn't sound like your workspace is very resource intensive nor does it seem like your chart is experiencing a rendering delay, given the information that you've provided. Since you are using a tick chart, it's possible that the lower volume prior to the open was causing the appearance of a 'slower' chart because the ticks are coming in more infrequently.

If this behavior continues during high volume periods or you are experiencing sluggishness with the platform as a whole, please send us a note at platformsupport(at)ninjatrader(dot)com with your log and trace files so that we can take a more in-depth look to identify what is occurring.

When you trade live is it problematic if you disconnect & then re-connect to NT8

              Hello tcea9,

              Thank you for your reply.

              The impact of disconnecting and reconnecting while trading live would depend on the account connection that is being used, and the state that your orders are in at the time of the disconnection. You may find more information about this at the 'Where Do Your Orders Reside' page at the link below;

I would always recommend contacting your broker to manage your positions if you are disconnected at any point while trading live or, if possible, ensuring that you are not actively in a trade when you disconnect and reconnect.
