    Stock watchlists

    Hi,

i d/l'ed ninjatrader a long time ago when the old software i used (myTrader) stopped being free. It was a wonderful package, save for a few features that were sorely missed. There are two things that really irk me, and I was wondering if there are secret NT things that I don't know about yet.

    1. Is there any way I can create a watchlist, or stocklist without having to go through the instrument manager? I like to flip through my charts and pick out the interesting ones to watch, but I have to click through the whole instrument manager thing. It would be sweet if i could just right click and say "add to watchlist"

    2. Saving my charts, or having drawings be instrument specific.

Other than that NT is good stuff, and right now it's the only option I have so I'm very happy with it. But, there's always new things to learn, but I cant seem to find the right info.

    thanks,
    venturi

    Hi Venturi,

1.You can add individual instruments to the Market Analyzer by right clicking in the Market Analyzer and select "Add Instrument".

    2. It is possible to save templates of your charts. Please see the following link for more information.

Unfortunately, it will not save drawing objects.

I am new to MA; I've managed to add mini DOW futures, NEXDAQ and S&P Futures into MA, but can I add in just DOW, Nexdaq and S&P indices instead of their futures?

Yes, this is possible. Please right click in the Market Analyzer and select "Add Instrument".

Set "Type" to "Index" and click the "..."-button. You can now select the index instrument you like.

I don't see any "Index" instruments in the "Type" column. There are only two types on my list: Currency and Futures

This indicates the data feed provider you are connected to does not support index data. You can verify this at the link below.

You will need to check this with Mirus Futures that provided you the trial account. I believe only Zen-Fire is supported.

You can create an instrument list in the Instrument Manager which you can load in the Market Analyzer.

Instructions to create an instrument list can be found at the link below.

I tried this, but I couldn't enter YM 12-08; it showed 12-08 is not valid. But I can Add it using "Add Intrument..." option. So, how do save to and Intrument List?
