    chart trader default quantity

    Hello,

I have selected an ATM in chart trader with quantity 1 but in chart trader it shows by default always 1000. One has to click here and there.... so that it is the correct quantity from the ATM.
    a) what has to be done so that with selecting the ATM it shows the quantity of the ATM
    b) more imporant(!): how can this default quantity be set to 1?

I got almost an heart-attack now when I clicked an entry live with qty 1000 instead of 1. (yes, one can read always all numbers if ok, but this should not be. and yes it was not executed because there is not enough margin for 1000, but this should not be tested if an entry is prevented because of this, live!)

    Thank you!
    Tony

    Hello,

    Thank you for the post.

Could you please send us a screenshot of your ATM Strategy parameters as well?

I look forward to your reply.

      Hello,

      please see attached the screenshot.

To describe again the behavior: when enabling chart trader the default quantity 1000 persists when selecting the ATM. One has to click another ATM (any) and then the ATM again and only then there is 1 instead of 1000.

      Thank you!

        Hello,

        Thank you for the screenshot.

The default quantity is due to the type of instrument you are trading.

In NinjaTrader 7, CFDs load as currency instruments, so it is using a lot size to determine size. They do not have their own classification within the database so they will use the default Forex lot size instead. In this system, 1 would equal a quantity of 1000 so it is defaulting to 1,000 in your Chart Trader.

Unfortunately there is no way in NinjaTrader 7 to modify the default lot size for an instrument.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
