Save/import instrument list

How do I save/import the default instrument list?

I thought it would be the database file, but that's apparently not where that data is stored.

Thanks for your post.

Instrument lists are saved in the Documents/NinjaTrader 7/db/NinjaTrader.sdf file. They cannot be exported/imported separately from the database, but can be brought in when restoring a backup that includes the NinjaTrader database.

You may try the following as a test:

1. Create a new Instrument List
2. Close NinjaTrader
3. Rename the Documents/NinjaTrader 7/db/NinjaTrader.sdf file to NinjaTraderOld.sdf
4. Restart NinjaTrader
5. The instrument list you created will not be present in this new database
6. Close NinjaTrader and restore your old database file.

A NinjaTrader backup can be created that includes the database file, which will include instrument lists.
