    Import history

I want to do an import Merge, not an import Replace... Any way to accomplish this? Thanks, Ken

    Hello,

    Yes, you can do this.

Just follow the steps within this link:

You can find the Merge under Tools>Historical data.

I want to merge data from a txt file into the database and not do the premium adjustment, just add the data to the database to fill in holes where data was not captured.

        Hello,

You can modify the data all you want so long has it is in line with the formatting in this link:

Then just import or merge it.

Let's say I missed getting data for ES 12-08 this morning from 8:30 am CST to 9:00, but at 9:00 I got connected to my real time data feed and it is collecting. At the end of the day, after market close, I get the tick level data from my broker, place it into a txt file in the tick format, and then Import history just on that data. Result: The 30 minutes of data that I imported is all that is in the database, all other data is erased. It does not merge to fill in the holes as I wanted.

            Hello,

In this case you will need to export the historical data for that day then go into the actual data file and edit the actual text that is there and insert the data.

Be sure that the data sets use the same type of data: tick, minute, daily.

Yes, that is exactly what I am doing now. It is time consuming and while I am doing this the real time bars are being lost for that 10-15 minutes. What I am asking for is a solution.

                Hello,

I recommend replacing the data in minute segments (if you are using min. data).

I am sorry this is how you will need to do it unless you can replace an entire days data.

It is necessary to replace the entire dataset - with futures that gets to be a big file of tick level data after 3 months. This is a major design issue with your product and I expect it affects many of your potential customers. I know it keeps me from going full blast with NT.
