The platform has the ability to export both compiled assemblies and compiled protected assemblies. If you are just trying to visually hide your code the compiled assembly is generally fine, for distrubuting your code where it may be reverse engineered protecting it adds another level of protection. We also suggest looking into using NT8 as it can utilize the newer agile.net for securing assemblies which offers additional protections.
