    Screener questions

    Hello,

i am trying to get Market Analyzer to work and im encountering a problem. After setting it up I have entered one condition on a weekly and one on a daily indicator and changed length of indicator but the result that im getting looks like its based on default indicator lengths. Is there any way of fixing this?

Another question i have is how to include new instrument list into Market Analyzer? I see how i can add a single stock but cant figure out how i add for example all stocks from NYSE or all SP stocks to be scanned?

    Thank you

    Hello,

Please confirm here that you connectivity provider supports daily data:

...if they do not, you will not be able to use this data type.

Try right clicking the Market Analyzer>Add Instrument List>SP 500.

      Hi Ben,

im using ameritrade as a feed and it says that it supports historical daily data.

As for the other part i dont have SP on the list, only DOW 30 and Nasdaq 100.

      Thanks

        Hello,

Please go to Tools>Options>Misc tab>Reset Instruments and see if the list comes back.

You may have deleted it. We recommend never selecting the Delete buttons in the Instrument Manager.

Also, please provide screen shots of your conditions and/or provide me with the rules of your condition and will try to assist.

Ok, managed to get SP list. Thank you for that.

I attached pictures of charts and scan result and also setting on CCI to 6. If you notice on the chart CCI 6 for GIS prints 114.02 on daily, and shows -56 on scanner, which coresponds to CCI 14 daily value.

            Hello,

Perhaps I am missing it, but your charts show a cci of period 7 and your Market analyzer shows cci of period 6.

Oops, i figure its my mistake. Now i see -56 on CCI, however, it looks to me that im not getting current data on the chart. I am running chart today and see todays bar is printing on a chart but CCI is showing data from yesterday. Any idea why is this?

              Thanks for your help

                Hello,

When you attach the indicator to the chart please modify the CalculateOnBarClose field to false to get any indicator to plot all the way to the current bar.

Note this will be more CPU intensive. You may want to review this link:

                  Market analyzer Q

                  Hi ..
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post but I couldnt find how else to post.
I am new to market analyzer. I am interested to know if I can create a custom column condition which is not listed in the existing conditions from the drop down.. If so , please guide me where to go to do this.. I know you can make strategy conditions but can you use these same conditions as a screener column in market analyzer.. Thanks

                    Hello,

                    Thank you for your note.

You must use the options available in the dropdown.

You can build a custom indicator in the Strategy Wizard and build a condition in the Market Analyzer using it.

If this did not answer your question please let me know.

I am not sure I understand your reply.

YOu sayI can build a condition but only that i can use the conditions in the drop down.

How do I get a condition I build in the strategy wizard into the dropdown for market analyzer.
                      thanks

                        Hello,

Perhaps I misunderstood you initially. Sorry.

You cannot get a CONDITION from the strategy wizard into the market analyzer.

You can however use INDICATORS built in the strategy wizard in the market analyzer.

thanks ben..but I am afraid all this jargon is still confusing. Let me be precise.
Here re the "conditions" or "indicators" I want to have as columns so I can scan for them
<Maybe you can tell me if I can do this and how..

                          1) Stocks that gap up
                          2) Stocks that gap down
                          3) A price which is a certain percentage away from the gap

                          Thanks

                            Hi Cingross:

Yes, it is possible to place your custom indicators as columns in the Market Analyzer.

Click here for instructions on how to add indicator columns to the Market Analyzer window:

Click on the upper right arrow to scroll through the topic.

Thanks Ben..So now I know I can add a custom column
Could you please walk me thru the steps to do this.

First I have to write the indicator.
                              Where do I do that?

Then I have to add it as a column.
I went to your link but I didnt see anything under adding columns" that referred to custom
columns so I am still not sure how I get the columns over there.

Appreciate your step by step guidance on this.
