    Visual Studio Assembly Reference Issues

In Visual Studio I have many errors and a common issue is "assembly reference". I don't have any compile issues but I do have a questionable situation with one of my indicators. It works sometime and not others.

    Hello Taddypole,

Our NinjaScript Support team is not able to fully support Visual Studio, but I can assist with issues you are seeing with a script in run-time or having compile errors in the NinjaScript Editor.

With the VS errors, are you opening the NinjaTrader project by clicking the Visual Studio icon on the NinjaScript Editor? (I would expect this to fully load the project without missing assemblies)
What version of NinjaTrader are you using?

Regarding the indicator, when you say it does not work, what is not working?

Is there a plot being set that is not plotting?

Have you used prints to provide output from the output window?

Any errors appearing on the Log tab of the Control Center when running the script?

      I'm using version 7.0.1000.40

I am not opening VS with an icon on the NinjaScript Editor. I don't know that feature.
In VS I in the Solution Explorer under References ... I see Warnings on NinjaTrader.Core and WilsonORMapper. These items have no path information.

In the indicator I just built, I use colored vertical lines plotted at certain hours during the day. When I drag the chart left or right, the color goes away and reappears. they turn to black , then back to their correct colors.

No errors on the Log tab.

        Hello Taddypole,

Apologies, I overlooked this is a NinjaTrader 7 thread.

The Visual Studio button is a new feature in NinjaTrader 8.

With NinjaTrader 7, you will need to manually add references to the WilsonORMapper.dll and NinjaTrader.Core.dll.

Have you tested on multiple computers to ensure this is not a graphic card issue with the local computer?

May I test an export of the indicator?

To export a NinjaTrader 7 NinjaScript so this may be shared and imported by the recipient do the following:
        1. Click File -> Utilities -> Export NinjaScript
        2. Enter a unique name for the file in the value for 'File name:'
        3. Select the strategy from the objects list on the left -> click the right facing arrow ">" to add the strategy to the export
        4. Click the 'Export' button -> click 'yes' to add any referenced indicators to the export -> click OK to clear the export location message
The exported file will be in the following location:
        • (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 7\bin\Custom\ExportNinjaScript\<export_file_name.z ip>
Below is a link to the help guide on Exporting NinjaScripts.
